Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the entire proposal development process, from initial capture planning to final proposal submission.
Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, subject-matter experts, and executives, to gather relevant information and ensure a cohesive proposal strategy.
Conduct thorough research and analysis of client requirements, competitive landscapes, and industry trends to tailor proposals that address client needs effectively.
Develop and maintain proposal schedules, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality proposals.
Coordinate and facilitate proposal kickoff meetings, storyboarding sessions, and review meetings with stakeholders.
Write and edit proposal content, ensuring it aligns with the client’s objectives, incorporates persuasive messaging, and adheres to proposal requirements and guidelines.
Establish and enforce proposal development best practices, templates, and processes to drive efficiency and improve the overall quality of proposals.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior proposal team members, offering support and expertise throughout the proposal development lifecycle.
Collaborate with the pricing team to develop competitive and compelling pricing strategies that maximize win potential while maintaining profitability.
Continuously assess and improve the proposal management process, leveraging lessons learned and industry best practices.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Business, Marketing, Communications, or similar).
A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience, with a demonstrated track record of at least five (5) years in a supervisory or management capacity.
Proven track record of successfully managing and winning complex proposals in the defense industry.
Extensive experience in proposal management, with a deep understanding of the proposal development lifecycle, best practices, and industry standards.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple proposals simultaneously.
Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Advanced knowledge of proposal development tools, software, and technologies.
Familiarity with government procurement processes and regulations.
Attention to detail, with a keen eye for quality and accuracy.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications in proposal management (e.g., APMP) are a plus.
Proven experience in overseeing proposal efforts exceeding $100 million.
