Purpose and Scope:
The Human Resources Associate is responsible for providing support in the functional areas of Human Resources including compensation, benefits, staffing, employee relations, equal employment opportunity (EEO), employee development, labor relations, and related areas. Ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, and related government regulations.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Under limited supervision, performs professional level support activities in one or more functional areas of human resources.
2. Deliver training programs, individually and in teams including presentation, facilitation, and coaching.
3. Counsel employees on benefit plan options and employee eligibility and maintain benefit records.
4. Process personnel actions into the HRIS system.
5. Prepare and administer corrective actions, up to and including terminations.
6. Assist in managing labor relations and conduct exit interviews.
7. Assist in designing and implementing employee engagement initiatives and retention efforts.
8. Use established procedures to perform assigned tasks.
9. Research and consolidate information required for analysis of human resources operations.
10. Extract and compile a variety of personnel data for consolidation into management reports. Prepare reports in conformance with legal requirements or organization needs.
11. Assist in the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
2 years of college level Human Resources courses or demonstrated equivalent. 2 years of general human resources experience. Requires a general understanding of human resources administration. Position may require travel. Must have the ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Position may require travel.
