AH-64 Aircraft Mechanic II (Armament/Electrical) REARRM FT Riley, KS.
The AH-64 Aircraft Mechanic II (Armament/Electrical Specialty) maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty.
Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
Remove and install aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components.
Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions.
Required to possess the level of experience necessary to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by skill class Mechanic I and must have a combination of experience to repair engines, sheet metal, structural, hydraulic, electrical, power train and general mechanical maintenance of moderate difficulty, required to
Required working knowledge of making entries in aircraft logbooks & records, military technical publications, and the Army’s Unit Level Logistics Aviation Information System, ULLSAE.
Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as aircraft technical manuals, maintenance information, blueprints or manufactures’ manuals and action messages.
Safely prepares aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks and services.
Perform scheduled inspections and assist in performing special inspections.
Perform limited maintenance operational checks and diagnoses and troubleshoots aircraft systems using special tools and test equipment as required.
Use and perform operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment.
Perform other duties as requested.
Minimum Requirements
A valid up-to-date A&P license is preferred but not required.
Three (3) years aviation maintenance experience, three (3) years rotary wing aircraft experience, and two (2) years on the assigned Mission Design Series AH-64 (MDS). All experience must be within the six (6) most recent years.
Tools are Required; Must provide own tools/toolbox. Tools must be shadowed and etched with PID.
Valid Driver’s License required.
Must be able to obtain/maintain favorable NACI (T1) Public Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
All mechanics assigned to perform maintenance on FAA certified aircraft must meet FAA requirements.
Possess the level of experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by mechanic.
Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work specifications is a plus.
Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.
Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds.
Most heavy lifting is accomplished through the use of mechanical devices.
