Civil Rights Investigator Amentum has an exciting opportunity for a Civil Rights Investigator to support US Attorney’s Office Civil Rights Enforcement Program by conducting a variety of tasks, including the following:Assisting with witness interviews, including drafting reports of interviews.Assisting in the drafting of documents, including requests for information from the targets of our investigations and other sources of information.Reviewing and assisting with digesting documents produced by the targets of our investigation.Researching the ownership of entities that are under investigation.Locate witnesses related to issue at hand and interview as required.Assisting with the selection of targets for Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) compliance reviews.Reviewing survey results for ADA compliance reviews.Assisting with locating victims of unlawful discrimination.Assisting with litigation tasks, including assistance with depositions and testifying at trial.Assisting with site visits as needed.Assists with reviewing compliance reports that requires comparison between several documents to ensure proper compliance with agreed upon terms.Supporting USAO community outreach and engagement efforts.Other tasks that support the Civil Rights Enforcement Program.Minimum Qualifications:Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.At least three (3) years of previous investigative experience is required.A bachelor’s degree is required.Must have proven experience working with civil rights enforcement cases reviewing and analyzing complex fact patterns and voluminous documentation to gain a strong understanding of the assigned case.Must have proven experience conducting entity research that are that are subject to investigations related to civil rights enforcement matters.Must be able to utilize legal research databases such as Lexis or WestLaw.Must have the ability to recognize, develop, and present evidence, both orally and in writing, that reconstructs events, sequences, and time elements and establishes relationships, responsibilities, and liability in a manner that meets the requirements of law.Must be proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPointRequires excellent grammar and communication skills.Occasional travel may be required for training or investigative purposes.A valid driver’s license required.Preferred:An ideal candidate will have a welcoming demeanor to help facilitate the disclosure of sensitive information from witnesses.A candidate with a passion for enforcing civil rights laws and compassion for vulnerable population is preferred.An advanced degree such as Masters or Juris Doctor is recommended.
