Deck Engineering Instructor-Tech II
Amentum is actively seeking a Small Boat Operator Instructor (Deck Engineering Instructor Technician) in Naval Amphibious (NAB) Coronado, CA. Work is performed at Navy Training Command in Coronado, California and personnel must maintain highest standards of personal grooming and dress.
Duties:
Perform classroom instruction and underway laboratory training.
Perform preventive, corrective maintenance and preservation of Navy small craft.
Abides to Amentum Ethics Program, Workplace Environment and Occupational Safety standards.
Maintaining cleanliness of work areas or assigned craft.
Occasionally work hours will be changed based on the type of training required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Navy NEC 9502 four years as navy instructor or MTS qualification highly desired.
Must have a minimum of 8 years BM/QM Navy small boat experience or equivalent civilian experience.
Specific experience on Improved Navy Lighterage System (INLS), MPF Utility Boat (MPFUB) and/or LARC V would be very beneficial.
Must be equivalent to Navy Second Class Swimmer qualified
U.S. Coast Guard 100-Ton license is a plus.
Proficiency in MS Office preferred.
Additional Comments:
Must be approved for Base Access.
This is a full-time instructor position plus overtime. Rate of pay increases upon qualifying and serving as an Instructor.
Some overtime may be periodically required.
Work environment/Conditions: Office, classroom and outside environment.
This position requires some travel.
