Plant Engineering Specialist 1 – Project Delivery
The Plant Engineer job family is responsible for technical activities relating to operations and maintenance of plant equipment during Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) and Commissioning and Operations. The Plant Engineer protects the installed configuration of the plant systems and provides technical support and issue resolution needed for operation and maintenance of the plant equipment. Under direction of a Plant Engineering Manager or Supervisor, the Project Delivery Specialist interacts with Plant Engineers, Training, Human Resources, and Business Services on staffing, staff development, training, and other Plant Engineering topics. Assignments for this job position are wide and varied; involving topics such as staffing, subcontracts, metrics, performance measures, reporting, training, and other aspects of Plant Engineering performance objectives.
This position shall be performed under the day-to-day direction, control, and supervision of WTCC
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS
Support recruiting efforts via career fairs, information sessions, resume workshops in both industry and academic venues to cultivate positive relationships for sourcing Engineering talent for the project
Support the development and refinement of position descriptions, specific to the needs of the organization
Support the onboarding process for both new hires and experienced Engineers
Assist the Plant Engineer Programs and Training organization on identification and completion of required training for Engineering personnel
Assist with the establishment, implementation, and tracking of career progression within the Plant Engineering organization
Support the development and implementation of a succession plan for the organization that will dovetail with the career progression plan
Support the maintenance of the Plant Engineering organization chart
Support the tracking of Plant Engineering staffing metrics and periodic reporting
Analyze Plant Engineering work flows. Configure implement and maintain data visualization tools and electronic forms and templates to monitor and automate work flows.
Assist with the management and tracking of subcontracts and work performed by affiliate organizations
Support the development, maintenance, and reporting of Plant Engineering performance metrics.
Support assigned aspects of the plant engineering program in order to meet agreed to departmental objectives.
Ensures quality and completeness of assigned tasks.
Ensures the safe and effective introduction of new process improvement and technologies.
Ensures work output follows established procedures, guides, and instructions.
Know, understand, and apply the principles of the Integrated Safety Management System
Performs technical writer responsibilities.
Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work.
Undertake tasks as assigned (competence permitting)

REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS
Education:
Associate (or higher) Degree related to science, technology, engineering, mathematics, computer/software science, or environment management or,
Equivalent competency through related education or specific training and experience in an area of expertise that support Plant Engineering.
Experience:
Two (2) years – Background consistent with education requirements.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Microsoft® Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Visio)
Experience in Configuration, implementation, and maintenance of data visualization tools such as Microsoft® Power BI, and electronic forms and templates
Webpage creation and maintenance
Experience with working across multiple groups to support collaboration

Amentum has joined with Bechtel to create an LLC, known as the Waste Treatment Completion Company (WTCC) Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.
Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.
This position is located at the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 4 x 10 schedule, M-Th, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $72,755.90 – $109,498.06 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
