Sewage Plant Operator
Job Description: The Wastewater Treatment Operator under general supervision performs work of routine difficulty under the guidance and direction of the STP Supervisor and Lead Operator. This is skilled work requiring the efficient operation and maintenance of equipment and facilities. Operator will perform process control and laboratory testing. Operator will also perform the routine preventative maintenance and emergency repair of equipment. Starts and stops machinery and pumps, operates valves, observes operation of equipment, and keeps readings in logs. Investigates and resolves basic abnormal conditions. Operator keeps a daily log of activities that is auditable by state and federal agencies. Uses hand and power tools to make repairs and to perform building and grounds cleaning and maintenance. Practices and adheres to all company safety and operational policies.
Pay rate is dependent upon current certification level.
Skills/Requirements
Must be a high school graduate or GED.
Valid Class ‘B’ commercial driver’s license with safe driving record.
Must have valid Colorado Wastewater Operator license.
Shift is from 12am to 8am, although the shift could change based upon needs.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check. May be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance, including successfully completing a thorough background investigation. For positions requiring use of a Company and/or Customer vehicle, must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy.
Hourly rate: $28.43
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
