Job Description
BAE Systems is looking for a Senior Modeling & Simulations (M&S) Solution Architect to develop customer M&S solutions while also serving as a technology subject matter expert in all M&S related technologies. The M&S Solution Architect will engage with existing and new customers, write technical proposals, assist engineering and product teams throughout the program lifecycle and recommend new technologies for evaluation. The Solutions Architect will provide technology Summaries outlining key capabilities and support the creation of product technology roadmaps and development plans to assist with deployment, installation and implementation of M&S Solutions for future customers.
Responsibilities include:
Manage and provide technical expertise for M&S efforts, including simulation environment architecture development, model development and integration and standard simulation interface development
Scoping and managing operations analysis studies, building vignettes/scenarios in modeling and simulation environments
Define subsystems and their interfaces, allocate responsibilities to subsystems, understand solution deployment, and communicate requirements for interactions with solution context
Participate in planning, definition, and high-level design of the solution and exploration of solution alternatives
Enable the Continuous Delivery Pipeline through appropriate design guidelines and investment advocacy
Work with customers, stakeholders, and suppliers to establish high-level solution intent, and the solution intent information models and documentation requirements
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
8+ years of experience in M&S related activities
Working knowledge of standard simulation protocols DIS, HLA, or equivalent
BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aero Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering or another related degree
Experience with simulation frameworks such as WARSIM, JLCCTC, AFSIM, OneSAF, NGTS, etc.
Experience using model-based engineering tools, or agile methods/tools
Experience collaborating across organizations and OEMs, participating in industry forums and conferences, writing and presenting technical papers
Knowledge of system development methodologies including requirement engineering, configuration management, technical baseline management, cost estimating and analysis, and decision support methodologies
Knowledge of software development, containerization, automated DevSecOps pipeline tools and cloud native design principles
Must have an active Secret or Top Secret clearance and be able to attain a Top Secret Security Clearance
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Modeling or simulation certification
Master’s Degree
10+ Years of Experience
Professional Certifications (eg. CASP+CE, CCNP. CISA, etc)
NOTE: This is a remote position that can be accomplished from anywhere in the continental U. S. There is an expectation of 20% travel to support team and customer engagements as well as integration events on either BAE or customer premises.
