Job Description
Candidates will provide Scientific and Technical Information (STI) deliverables by performing Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E), and other various Research and Development (R&D)-related analytical services.
Candidates will provide research, analyses, studies, testing, prototyping and assessments of advanced phases of analysis for advanced computing and development; advanced sensors; and development of strategies, and recommendations for advancing our customer’s research portfolio initiatives in four core areas of research.
The four core areas of research include: (1) advanced computing systems, (2) microelectronics integration, (3) optical and radio frequency innovations, and (4) solid state and quantum physics.
Tasks shall include both fundamental and applied research, analysis, and development for advanced computing research initiatives for cloud computing, big data analytics, High Performance Computing (HPC), cognitive cyber security, and algorithmic development.
This shall also include development, configuration, testing, cost analysis, and integration of HPC prototype systems for advanced computing. In addition, tasks performed shall involve advanced sensor research to include innovative research and proof of concept prototypes yielding technical breakthroughs in areas such as non-software cyber threat detection and mitigation techniques, stealth communications, pattern recognition, and signal processing within electronic and optical domains. Research conducted will address critical technology areas such as quantum science, trusted Artificial Intelligence (AI) and autonomy, and integrated sensing and cyber.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In this role, candidates will apply their expertise and knowledge to technical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve research, techniques, procedures, and/or products and technologies.
Candidates will provide research engineering, technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development and implementation for complex systems in the engineering discipline.
Responsibilities include developing, conducting and evaluating new approaches to meet technical requirements faster and more efficiently.
Candidates will make recommendations and advise on research development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts.
Candidates will perform risk assessments and innovative use of new research concepts or improved techniques and procedures.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
May lead and direct the work of others.
May report to a supervisor or manager.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Master’s degree; at least 5-12 years of experience in the field or in a related area such as:
Advanced computing systems,
Microelectronics integration,
Optical and radio frequency innovations, and
Solid state and quantum physics.
Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
Able to obtain and maintain Security Clearance
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Possess Current Active Security Clearance preferred.
