Job Description
BAE Systems is looking for a Journeyman Software Engineer/Developer to join our Modeling & Simulations team. The Modeling and Simulation Developer will design and implement complex simulations of multi domain warfare systems, and work with other M&S developers and partners in a team. M&S activities encompass activity from requirements development to product testing. The primary skill-set for this work is the ability to translate systems and their supporting technologies into models allowing evaluation of those systems in the full context of the battlefield.
Responsibilities Include:
Provides support in software development phases that include, but are not limited to: generating requirements, design, implementation, integration and testing
Extensive C++ programming experience
Performance Tuning
Unit and Integration Testing
Release/Patch Build
Deployment/Installation
Maintenance (e. g. , bug fixes).
Uses applicable methodologies, modeling/estimating techniques, tools, applications, systems, software, and databases to perform assigned tasks.
Contributes to or develops technical documentation (e. g. , Test Cases, Test Plan, updates to application administration documentation)
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 5 years of related experience
Active Secret security clearance
Recent experience with a Java syntax-compatible object-oriented programming language (e. g. , Groovy) or Java
Experience with writing implementing C++ computer based models running in real-time simulation environments
Experience in the design, development and testing of web-based Java applications, SSL configurations, SOAP/WSDL and RESTful services
Firm understanding of relation database concepts
Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and DOM manipulation
Knowledge of JSP, tag libraries, and auxiliary technologies (XML, JSON, AJAX, ANT, etc. )
Familiarity with decomposing requirements to provide estimates for completion
Self-starter with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines consistently
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
TS/SCI Eligibility
Recent experience with modern Simulation Environments (e. g. , VBS4, VRForces, Unity3D, etc. )
Recent experience with modern Software Modeling
Recent experience with Java web servers (e. g. , Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere, etc. )
NOTE: This is a remote position that can be accomplished from anywhere in the continental U. S. There is an expectation of 20% travel to support team and customer engagements as well as integration events on either BAE or customer premises.
