Leverage expertise in the configuration management (CM) processes within planning, design, implementation, testing, and release phases of a developmental and operational systems life cycle for both hardware and software. Identify configuration items (CI), implement change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits, participate in review boards, process change proposals, and enforce change management requirements. Work on a team to create and maintain software, hardware, and documentation configuration baselines, including development, test, and production. Modify CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the developmental or operational system. Implement CM discipline for the entire life cycle of systems from initial requirements and capabilities baselines to system end-of-life. Interact with engineering, development, test, cybersecurity, support, and help desk teams daily to capture change requests and maintain authorized baseline configurations for lifecycle support. Track all problems and changes in product documents and software and report changes, control standard operating procedures, and configurations. Interface with vendors and other contractors to forecast changes to hardware and software configurations and facilitate distribution to development, engineering, and cybersecurity teams, as necessary. Use or recommend automated CM tools to support the implementation of CM policies and procedures. Conduct quality assurance on all CM developed and deliverable products, manage and input information within CM and logistics tools, and generate consolidated reports reflecting hardware, software, and logistics information.
