Linux System Engineer, Lead
Key Role:
Install systems on dedicated infrastructure, ensure the infrastructure is functional and available, and update and patch critical systems. Provide customers insight into their network through monitoring and performance management. Identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network. Accomplish work without considerable direction and look for ways to make the infrastructure better using the latest technology and the best implementation strategies. Help your team better understand the network by turning metrics into information and explaining their meaning. Share your expertise through leadership and mentoring as you help the team work through challenges and develop new methodologies. Identify new opportunities to modernize the network to help your customers meet their needs.
Basic Qualifications:
15+ years of experience with systems administration
5+ years of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS
Experience with managing virtual machines and VMware ESXi
Knowledge of Linux firewalls, networking configuration, and Domain Name System
Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
Bachelor’s degree in IT
Ability to obtain DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II Compliant certification within 60 days of start date
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with AWS
Experience with managing systems using Infrastructure as Code technologies, including Salt, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and Terraform
Knowledge of bi-directional network transfer systems
TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II Compliant certification
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,300.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
