Communication Security Engineer, Mid

Key Role:

Lead a team of communications and systems engineers supporting engineering, sustainment, and management of communications systems. Perform ongoing system analyst activities for programs. Perform risk assessments of systems and equipment, assist engineers with identifying solutions for vulnerabilities, create and map Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), submit change requests for system components, develop a Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), create documentation supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditations, perform vulnerability management using automated systems, and create and submit RMF packages. Brief the technical security posture to client leadership, prepare brief slides and summaries of vulnerabilities, and advise on how to prevent and mitigate future security threats.

Basic Qualifications:

3+ years of experience providing cybersecurity, engineering, or operational support, including information assurance, network engineering, or systems administration
Experience developing and evaluating security documentation for communication systems
Experience evaluating compliance of a system against RMF and DoD Cybersecurity policies
Knowledge of security architecture evaluation, guidance development, and troubleshooting
Knowledge of DIACAP or the RMF
Knowledge of communications technologies or digital and analog electronics
Ability to execute, analyze, secure, and accredit DoD communication systems
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree
DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification

Additional Qualifications:

3+ years of experience with DoD A&A processes and Cybersecurity engineering
Experience using security-related tools
Experience working with the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)
Knowledge of DoD information assurance policies, directives, and STIGs for communication systems
Knowledge of NIST 800 series publications, including 800-30, 800-37, 800-53, and 800-53a
Ability to assess organizational risks associated with security threats and recommend mitigation strategies
Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possession of excellent time management and organizational skills
Top Secret clearance
CompTIA Security+ CE, CSSLP, CISSP, or CEH Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
