We are seeking a skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join the DMC program located at Langley AFB, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing security events and incidents to detect and respond to potential cyber threats. The successful candidate will have a background in information security and experience in security event monitoring.
This position will require shift work.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Implement the cyber security plan to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the OA DCGS weapon system.
Analyze and investigate security incidents to determine the root cause, extent, and severity of the incident, and develop effective remediation strategies and recommendations to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Develop and maintain custom security alert rules, reports, dashboards, and visualizations to provide real-time visibility and situational awareness of security events, trends, and anomalies, and to facilitate incident response and forensics investigations.
Ensure security testing and evaluations are completed and documented.
Involvement with cyber vulnerability penetration assessments conducting post-incident reviews and lessons learned sessions.
Provide direct support as a technical representative for ensuring security is integrated throughout the lifecycle of systems.
Knowledge of common enterprise security devices and/or mission application toolsets.
Experience with SIEM solutions, preferably Elastic Security/Kibana or ArcSight.
Experience using a ticketing system.
Experience with Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
Stay up-to-date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques, and provide training and awareness to colleagues on incident response best practices, policies, and procedures.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI security clearance.
Bachelor’s degree (in IS Technology, Computer Science or related field) or 4 years equivalent experience.
3+ years as cyber security analyst and/or vulnerability management.
DOD Directive 857 IAT II certification (Security+ or equivalent).
AF DCGS experience.
Knowledge of security best practices and standards, including NIST, ISO, and SOC operations.
Knowledge of network security and incident response procedures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
