Huntington Ingalls Industries – Mission Technologies (HII-MT) is seeking a technically minded, inquisitive Cyber Security Engineer to join a select Fleet Sustainment team investigating the security of complex enterprise systems for the U.S. Navy. This position is located at our Virginia Beach, VA location and is hybrid. Relocation assistance may be available.

Security Clearance: A current Secret level government security clearance is highly desired (will be processed for one if candidate does not have one to start) and therefore all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen.  

What You Will Do
The ideal candidate has a strong multi-disciplinary foundation in digital and analog system architecture or design and excels at decomposing complex systems and protocols to understand how they work.  
Duties will include evaluation and vulnerability assessments of existing systems and designs to include system architecture evaluation, protocol analysis, hardware and/or software vulnerability discovery, and documentation of findings or recommendations.  
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical leadership for specifying, designing, implementing, testing, accrediting, deploying, and sustaining the enterprise system and service architectures in a distributed, net-centric environment for the U.S. Navy.  
To be successful in this role, you will have experience leading information and information systems integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation, designing and developing new systems, applications, and solutions for external customer’s enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks. Successful candidates will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.    
What You Must Have
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) or 9 years of related work experience. 
Minimum of five years providing assessment and authorization (A&A) of Platform IT, Cloud-hosted systems, and systems undergoing modernization. 
Ensures system security needs established and maintained for operations development, security requirements definition, security risk assessment, systems analysis, systems design, security test and evaluation, certification and accreditation, systems hardening, vulnerability testing and scanning, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning and provides analytical support for security policy development and analysis.  
Integrates new architectural features into existing infrastructures, designs cyber security architectural artifacts, provides architectural analysis of cyber security features and relates existing system to future needs and trends, embeds advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction, provides engineering recommendations, and resolves integration and testing issues.  
May interface with external entities including law enforcement, intelligence and other government organizations and agencies.  
Experience with information and information systems integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation.     
U.S. Citizenship required. 
Must be able to obtain DoD Secret-Level Clearance. 
Bonus Points For …
Minimum of ten years of experience providing expert assessments and recommendations facilitating approval of RMF assessment and authorizations and helping system owners and Information Systems Security Engineers (ISSE) resolve cybersecurity hurdles. 
Experience with Navy or Navy IT Systems. 
Navy Qualified Validator Certification (NQV) Level II in good standing 
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification 
Experience with DoD Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) C&A/A&A processes.  
Having an active secret clearance.
Physical Requirements
May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
