Title:
Communications Payload Engineer
KBR is seeking a highly motivated Communications Payload Engineer to support an NRO acquisition office. The Office provides innovative technology solutions that enable the NRO to meet near and emerging national and defense intelligence needs through the development and operations of technology demonstrations, prototypes, and new systems that guide revolutionary change. The successful candidate will be able to grasp technical concepts and translate those concepts into requirements to guide system development, CONOPs, and program baseline documentation. Responsibilities include: Payload Engineering with focus on Communications Design, Test Plan and Procedures, Verification Plans Development, and AI&T activities Support technical planning, design review, review of payload testing and verification results for demonstration program phase and demonstration transition to operations. Support the customer in determining future design and test needs Assist the customer in assessing and reviewing Integration and Test results and analysis Lead technical engagements to review and assess design stability, test results, and analysis Support review of technical evaluation criteria and checklists for contractor demonstrations and milestone reviews leading to Acquisition Milestone approval Lead/coordinate technical engagements with multiple developers and user community.
Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. or greater with a STEM degree
6+ years relevant technical experience
Exposure to the system design trade process, assessing system design options, analyzing mission requirements, monitoring system development, test development/execution
Experience in design and evaluation of communications payloads
Experience with NRO communications mission programs and enterprise.
Desired Qualifications:
3+ years experience with NRO space and communications systems acquisition and/or sustainment.
Understanding communications systems engineering, acquisition, and operations best practices.
Security Clearance requirements: Active TS/SCI with CI Poly
