KBR Science & Space Business is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to support the Quality Inspection team in conducting dimensional inspections of space-flight hardware, ground support equipment and other components using a CMM, Optical Comparator and other manual inspection tools (gages, calipers, micrometers, etc.), verifying conformance to engineering drawings and/or specification requirements.
Responsibilities:
Support hardware inspection and paperwork review to ensure compliance with procurement requirements and to document non-conformances as needed
Generate inspection reports
Interface with KBR Quality Assurance and procurement personnel, the customer, and engineers to ensure hardware inspection requirements are satisfied and that discrepancies are recorded and reported in an expedited manner
Required Education / Skills:
Associates degree
6 + years of related experience
Or High school diploma & 8 + years of related experience
Familiarity with MS Office software suite
Strong ability to use calibrated measurement instruments/tooling
Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Ability to review and comprehend released drawings/prints
Experience operating a CMM
PC-DMIS programming experience on and offline
Preferred Education / Skills:
Quality Assurance inspection
NASA hardware inspection experience
Performing inspections on printed wiring boards and EEE parts would be a plus
NASA Quality Inspection Certifications
Understanding of AS-9100 Quality Management System Standard for Aviation, Space, and Defense Industry.
Knowledge of MIL-Specifications and SAE Specifications
