Job Description:
Leidos is seeking a Geospatial Specialist Intern for a summer internship opportunity. The candidate will assist in researching map archives and databases to pull maps covering an area of interest and assist in uploading the files to our internal website. Candidate will also assist with the creation of smaller cartographic tasks.
Primary Responsibilities
Candidate will be responsible for researching through archives and databases to find maps within a specified area of interest. Once these maps are identified and downloaded, they will need to be uploaded to our internal website. Candidate may also assist with smaller custom cartographic projects.
Basic Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in an accredited university working towards Bachelor's degree in Geospatial Information Systems (GIS)

Studies in Geospatial Information Systems (GIS), Cartography, Geography, or related field with demonstrated GIS training or coursework

Strong file management and organization skills

Ability to work independently at times, but also be part of team
Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro software

Any experience with python may present the opportunity to take on additional web collection tasking
Pay Range:
Pay Range $44,200.00 – $68,000.00 – $91,800.00
