Object-oriented Java programming
Ability to design, develop, and maintain new software functionality
Ability to work with previously written code and make modifications as necessary
Ability to work closely with other disciplines (systems and test engineers) to troubleshoot and fix problems

Contribute to the completion of program and project milestones under the specific guidance of his/her immediate supervisor
Ability to follow established SW processes and procedures, development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts, requirements (system, element, segment level), external and internal interfaces, and other software engineering work products/artifacts
Location: working onsite in our State College, PA or Dulles, VA office

Clearance Requirements: An active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date
This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $12K for a person with a TS/SCI clearance that can be verified and hired here at Raytheon
Required Experience:
Experience in object-oriented software design and development using Java in a Linux environment and using unit testing tools (e.g. JUnit)
Software and system-level debugging experience including the ability to identify problems in established code and make modifications as necessary
Experience with software execution throughout the entire software life cycle
Experience in scripting languages such as Perl and Python.
Experience in DevOps technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Jenkins
Experience with agile software methodologies such as Scrum/Kanban
Ability to design software modules using an object-oriented approach.
Ability to provide direct customer interaction for the purpose of conveying software design decisions and/or performing software installation support.
Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment.
Experience with Git for source control
Desired Experience:
Experience with JIRA, BitBucket, Gradle.
Security+ certification
Experience using the Atlassian tool suite
Practical experience with specific technologies such as databases, distributed architectures, web-based technologies, cloud technology, user interfaces/portals, and familiarity with software design/implementation tools.
Required Education and Experience:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Engineering, Technology, or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
